KOSOVSKA MITROVICA, Aug 30 (Tanjug) - Goran Grujicic, a Serb resident of the Dren village in the Zubin Potok municipality in Kosovo-Metohija, was abducted early Wednesday by armed and masked men wearing uniforms with Albanian National Army insignia.

Grujicic was intercepted by three vehicles and dragged out of his car to a house in the Zac village, but managed to escape into the woods through a window, the Serb National Council of northern Kosovo (SNV) said in a release.

Grujicic managed to contact his relatives by mobile phone to get help.

It is obvious that violence in Kosovo is growing, SNV President Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug.

This abduction can be linked with the escape of terrorists from the Dubrava prison near Istok. Police and KFOR claims that security in Kosovo is improving are not true, Ivanovic said.

The growing incidence of abductions is a clear message to Serbs and a threat to the safety of all non-Albanians, particularly in the expectation of direct negotiations on the status of Kosovo-Metohija, he noted.

Kosovo police spokesman Besim Hoti told Tanjug that Grujicic had reported abduction attempt on the Osojane - Lukavac road.
